| Luke
Borneman 2001-2005
Luke crowned his high school wrestling career by becoming the first wrestling champion in the school’s history. Coming from a family deeply devoted to wrestling, he followed his brother, Zach, who won the Region X 160 lb. title. His sisters, Meg and Tomi, were also involved with Houston Wrestling as Horsepower girls. After playing middle school football, Luke decided to devote all his energies to wrestling. As a sophomore he won the Region X title at 145 lb. and placed 2nd in the state tournament. His junior year brought him two prestigious titles- the Blackhorse tournament and Region X title at 152 lb. with a 3rd place finish at state. Wrestling at 160 lb., his senior year became a year of firsts- first Houston wrestler to achieve All-American status, first Houston wrestler to win the Bradley tournament, first Houston wrestler to win the Father Ryan tournament, first Houston wrestler to be a three time Region X champion, and finally first Houston wrestler to win state. Luke went on to get a scholarship and wrestle for Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. |

Brandon's success spanned his four years of wrestling at Houston High School. His achievements included winning the Region X title all four years, placing third in state as a sophomore, winning the Blackhorse tournament, the Trey Culotta tournament in New Orleans, and the Father Ryan and Bradley tournaments twice.
